 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • The Department received applications and began the review process for Mississippi, Oregon, and Minnesota, and continued the review process for Maine and Utah.
  • The Department posted a new guidance document on Ed.gov/Recovery providing examples of how to use ARRA funds to drive school reform and improvement.
  • The Department began posting ARRA Spending Reports by state and by program. These reports are available on Ed.gov/Recovery and will be updated weekly.
  • Department officials reviewed draft guidance to States regarding Interim Recipient Reporting Requirements.
  • Program Offices and Risk Management Services presented office-specific requirements for Technical Assistance outreach.
  • Department coordinated approach with DOI regarding Insular Areas (Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa) and agreed upon program management and oversight approach.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • Review State Fiscal Stabilization Fund applications when received and provide state-specific feedback as appropriate to address outstanding questions and/or issues.
  • Develop integrated financial and program technical assistance outreach plans.
  • Complete draft Notice of Proposed Priorities related to publishing State Fiscal Stabilization Fund assurance metrics in Federal Register.
  • Complete framing of key policy issues associated with $4.35B Race to the Top incentive fund.
