 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • Department officials reviewed and approved State Fiscal Stabilization Fund applications for Wisconsin, Florida, Nevada, Georgia, and New York, making an additional $5.7 billion available to states for a total of $13 billion to date for this fund.
  • The Department received application and began the review process for Rhode Island and Indiana and continued the review process for Iowa, Idaho, and Puerto Rico.
  • The Department revised Interim Recipient Reporting Requirements guidance per department and OMB feedback and submitted for clearance.
  • The Department reviewed draft of Notice of Proposed Priorities relating to State Fiscal Stabilization Fund assurance metrics to publish in Federal Register.
  • Program and staff offices reviewed draft Agency and Program Performance Plans.
  • The Department drafted Notice Inviting Applications for Teacher Quality Partnership Grant Program.
  • The Department drafted non-regulatory guidance on waivers relating to ARRA Title I funds.
  • The Department established process for reviewing State Plans for Independent Learning.
  • The Department issued additional guidance on the maintenance-of-effort requirements in the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund program.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • Review State Fiscal Stabilization Fund applications when received and provide state-specific feedback as appropriate to address outstanding questions and/or issues.
  • Conduct initial Office of the Inspector General audits in California, Texas, Illinois, and New York.
  • Post and disseminate Interim Recipient Reporting Requirements guidance.
  • Finalize draft of the Notice of Proposed Priorities relating to State Fiscal Stabilization Fund assurance metrics to publish in Federal Register.
  • Review Agency and Program Performance Plans with OMB/clarify format and posting requirements.
  • Continue to develop integrated financial and program technical assistance outreach plans.
  • Submit Notice Inviting Applications for Teacher Quality Partnership Grant Program for clearance.
  • Review and revise terms and conditions for Enhancing Education through Technology (Ed Tech) State Program.
