  • In total, 19 agencies submitted requests for replacement vehicles on May 6, 2009. Agency requests identified each vehicle they propose to replace, by Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and the type of vehicle to replace it with. GSA is evaluating the submissions.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • CONTRACT AWARDS - GSA has identified additional contracts that can be awarded within 120 days and is taking necessary actions to ensure the expeditious obligation of funds while maximizing competition.
  • - GSA is verifying the year, model, make, and miles per gallon of the vehicles identified to be replaced. - GSA is working with the Environmental Protection Agency to quantify actual improvements in fuel economy and emission reductions for the specific vehicles purchased and vehicles replaced using Recovery funds. - GSA will perform an evaluation of the improvements in fuel economy and emission reductions that will be achieved. Upon completing the evaluation, vehicle replacement decisions will be made in mid May and submitted to agencies for concurrence by May 22, 2009. - Following the concurrence of agencies on the planned orders, GSA will obligate funds and submit orders to manufacturers for the replacement vehicles by June 1, 2009.
  • We are taking actions to establish an Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings in GSA.
