Prevention and Response Branch
Our Mission is to protect the health and welfare of the residents and environment of Region 6 from the release of oil or hazardous substances.
The Prevention & Response Branch of the Superfund Division consists of three teams and the Regulatory Enforcement & Compliance Group.
The Emergency Team, the Removal Team and the Oil Team are responsible for emergency response activities, on-scene monitoring and/or direction of clean-ups and emergency removals of oil/hazardous materials. These teams are also responsible for developing and implementing the Regional and U.S./ Mexico Border contingency planning for emergencies, and Community Right-to-Know. The Regulatory Group is responsible for Superfund (CERCLA) Cleanup Enforcement, Oil Pollution Act (OPA) Cleanup Enforcement, OPA & SPCC Enforcement, and RMP Inspections and Enforcement.
