Current Methodology and User's Manual
The Methodology Document for RSEI Model Version 2.2.0, February 2009 (PDF) (85 pp, 328K) describes data and methods used in RSEI modeling.
The User's Manual for RSEI Model Version 2.2.0, February 2009 (PDF) (184 pp, 1.7 MB) explains all of the functions of the model, the data used, and contains tutorials to walk the new user through common RSEI tasks. A more general overview of the model can be found in the RSEI Fact Sheet (PDF) (2 pp, 120K).
There are also six Technical Appendices that accompany these two documents and provide additional information on the data used in the model. The Appendices are as follows:
Technical
Appendix A (PDF) (36 pp, 209K) - Listing of All Toxicity
Weights for TRI Chemicals and Chemical Categories
Technical
Appendix B (PDF) (85 pp, 523K) - Physicochemical Properties
for TRI Chemicals and Chemical Categories
Technical
Appendix C (PDF) (10 pp, 50K) - Derivation of Model Exposure
Parameters
Technical
Appendix D (PDF) (18 pp, 151K) - Locational Data for TRI
Reporting Facilities and Off-site Facilities
Technical
Appendix E (PDF) (19 pp, 72K) - Derivation of Stack Parameter
Data
Technical
Appendix F (PDF) (7 pp, 26K) - Summary of Differences Between
RSEI Data and the TRI Public Data Release
The spreadsheet (XLS) (1.8M) showing the RSEI toxicity weights and their sources is included in the RSEI installation package in the "Supporting Information" folder.
Supporting Documents
In addition, there are two documents containing background and supporting information. Analyses Performed for the Risk-Screening Environmental Indicators (PDF) (181 pp, 1.6 MB) contains three parts:
- Part A describes the result of a ground-truthing analyses performed to determine the accuracy of the air pathway modeling;
- Part B contains additional analyses performed on the air pathway to determine optimal modeling parameters; and
- Part C describes the results of an analysis of a Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code-based stack parameter data.
Developing the Risk-Screening Environmental Indicators (PDF) (127 pp, 757K) describes the development of the RSEI model, and outlines options that were considered for several important aspects of the method.
