Crop BioProtection (CBP) develops new biological products and processes for controlling pests and for producing renewable bioenergy from crop biomass. This research team is developing a new pheromone tool that is crucial for the early detection of emerald ash borer (EAB) which is threatening to wipe out ash trees nation-wide including in nearby counties in Illinois. Early detection is currently our best avenue of defense against this devastating pest. Learn more about CBP research projects here.
