History comes alive for visitors at the U.S. Navy Museum!

Devoted to the display of naval artifacts, models, documents and fine art, the museum chronicles the history of the United States Navy from the American Revolution to present-day conflicts. Interactive exhibits commemorate our Navy's wartime heroes and battles as well as peacetime contributions in exploration, diplomacy, navigation and humanitarian service.

Tools, equipment and personal effects offer visitors and exciting chance to learn more about naval history, customs and way of life.

The Cold War Gallery, currently under construction at the Washington Navy Yard, is the newest exhibit to be added to the National Museum of the U.S. Navy. Located in the newly renovated historic building adjacent to the current Museum, the Cold War Gallery is a testament to the Navy's Cold War veterans - telling the story of their selfless and crucial service during one of history's most perilous and high-stakes epochs.
