Provide both clinical and administrative supervision to program therapists. Responsible to complete competencies on each staff member and ensure that staff are knowledgeable regarding performance expectations and for their own position. Provide performance feedback for assigned clinicians.

Unaccompanied Minors Program Manager
Responsible to: Medical Director/Program Director

Salary Range: $60,000 + commensurate with experience

Type of Position: Fulltime

General Description: The Unaccompanied Minors Program (UMP) is a new, state-of-the-art project funded by the Health and Human Services Office of Refugee and Resettlement. The purpose of the program is to design and implement a national program to improve the capacity of the Division of Unaccompanied Children's Services (DUCS) to provide trauma-informed services to the children and adolescents under its care. DUCS is responsible for the funding and oversight of a network of shelter and residential programs which house approximately 10,000 unaccompanied minors per year across the United States. This mental health and trauma-focused program will support training and capacity building for DUCS shelters, residential network employees, and front line providers. The program manager will work closely with the director to effectively orchestrate and manage a pool of consultants and partner agencies to carry out the mission of the program.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all programmatic and operational aspects of the start-up and operational phases of the program including needs assessment protocol development; adaptation of novel interventions to unaccompanied minor populations; selection of pilot site; piloting of workshops and trainings; website development and supervising remote teams;
  • Monitor program activities against the program timelines, goals and objectives to assure that the program is being implemented in accordance with proposed activities;
  • Manage evaluation process and write monthly or quarterly reports on program implementation;
  • Provide training and technical assistance to shelters and residential programs;
  • Provide routine updates to Medical Director/Program Director on progress and challenges; make suggestions to implement changes and implementing changes upon approval;
  • In collaboration with UMP team revise training protocols, write reports and recommendation for phase II of the project.
  • Coordinate and maintain strong working relationships with collaborating partners both in Massachusetts and across the country through regularly scheduled advisory board and partner meetings, telephone conferences, and site visits;

Educational Qualifications / Experience: Doctoral or Master's degree in mental health field from a nationally recognized accredited school or program. Degree should be in mental health service delivery or related health care field, including Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Nurse with relevant training and experience. Three to five years work experience in an appropriate and relevant setting. Fluency in Spanish required.

The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS), Addictions and Mental Health (AMH) Division is seeking candidates with exceptional qualifications to be considered for the Director of the Addictions and Mental Health Division/Principal Executive Manager I. This position is responsible for programs, policies, community services, and state-operated public institutions serving persons with mental illness and alcohol and drug abuse problems. The Division reports to the DHS Director. With a biennial budget just under $1.0 billion, the Division employs more than 1500 persons directly and contracts for services with hundreds of programs at the county and community level across the state. More than 100,000 Oregonians per biennium are serviced through programs under the direction of the Director. This position is executive service and is not represented by a union.

The Director directs all programs to assure attainment of DHS goals and the discharge of its legal duties. The Director is responsible for the direct supervision of two state hospital superintendents, the Division Medical Director, and high level managers responsible for community prevention, treatment and extended care services, and planning and program operations. A key responsibility of the Director is coordinating mental health and addiction services with the others programs and operations within Health Services and across the range of programs and direct service delivery in DHS.

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Director is appointed by, and reports to, the Director of DHS. The Director participates with other Directors as the group that develops policy, coordinates program development, and addresses fiscal and program problems as they arise. Within DHS the Director is an advocate for the needs of those served by the Additions and Mental Health Division. The Director confers with the DHS Director regarding general directions in response to legislative and gubernatorial action. Within these guidelines the Director exercises independence and discretion to plan, budget, organize, staff, direct, coordinate and evaluate the office managers, staff and state hospital superintendents.

REQUIREMENTS
Four years of progressive management experience related to a human services program with an emphasis in addictions and mental health programs which included responsibility for each of the following: Development of program rules and policies; development of long-and short-range goals and plans; program evaluation and budget preparation/management.Graduate-level courses in management may be substituted for one year of the required experience. NOTE: Preference may be given to applicants with graduate-level education in public administration or a related field of study.

Clinical Instructor/Mental Health Clinician
Summary
The Kempe Center in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado at Denver Health Sciences Center is recruiting a Clinical Instructor/Mental Health Clinician for its Denver-Kempe Trauma Collaborative Center. This Center is a collaboration between the Kempe Center and the Denver Department of Human Services. The goal of this Center is to bring evidence-based mental health interventions to children involved in Children's Protective Services. Clinicians will learn evidence-based interventions appropriate for abused and neglected children birth to 12 years of age. Interventions will involve providing home-based and/or clinic-based mental health services to meet the social and emotional needs of neglected and/or abused children and their foster, biological, and kinship caregivers.

Training in evidence-based interventions, infant mental health, child development, and related topics is provided upon hire with on-going learning through research articles, conferences, etc. We put a strong emphasis on team support; weekly individual and group supervision is provided. This position can range from part- to full-time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend all required training sessions in evidence-based practices, infant mental health, child/parent development, assessment and observation techniques.
  • Learn to use evidence-based interventions for abused and neglected children and their families with fidelity.
  • Participate in development of new evidence based interventions and collect all required clinical/research data.
  • Carry assigned caseload and work with foster, kinship and biological parents.
  • Notify supervisor of emergency situations promptly, verbally and with written follow-up.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with child welfare caseworkers.
  • Have the ability to respond with flexibility to client needs
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date process recordings of sessions, regular participation in individual and group supervision, and provide testimony in court when necessary.

Required Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced mental health clinician to complete our clinical team. A master's degree in social work or a related field is required; candidate can be working on state licensure. A strong interest and experience in child trauma and in infant/toddler/preschool/middle childhood development is important. Ability to speak Spanish is also desirable.

Summary
In the context of a post-doctoral research fellowship in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine/Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (David Brent, MD, PI), we seek candidates for a program that specializes in translational research at the university and community (efficacy-effectiveness) interface. The program provides specialized training to clinical-researchers who wish to acquire the skills necessary to design and conduct treatment dissemination/implementation trials in ?real-world" settings. Our portfolio includes clinical trials and projects that draw upon the application of evidence-based treatments for child/adolescent populations (e.g., behavior problems/disorders, adolescent sexual abusers, child physical abuse/family violence) in community settings/systems that have become increasingly involved in the delivery of mental health services (e.g., pediatric primary care, juvenile justice, child welfare, community mental health).

Fellows are encouraged to contribute to and/or manage existing clinical trials, develop treatment research grant applications, and disseminate products having scientific, practice, and policy implications.
