"I didn't realize how remote the lookout was. I had made my
reservations back in April to come up here, with little knowledge of the
location. I turned out to be one of the best weekends I had ever had!
The views of Shasta and the valley were incredible! The swift sunrise
and the slow sunsets were memories for a life time. Coming here is a
reminder of our role in the natural world and responsibility as stewards of
our home." Folsom, Ca
"This is our third year up here, it's become something of a tradition.
This is such a great place to come to relax, enjoy nature and have fun with
the 4-wheel drive. What a great place to remember fun childhood
experiences and make new and lasting memories." Pittsburg, Ca
"Unbelievable wake-up in the mornings. Worth the hike for the
solitude and the views." San Marcos, Ca
"Spectacular views. A storm moved through in the evening and we saw
a double full rainbow. Wild winds at night. What a treat.
Thanks so much NFS!" Portland, Or
"Incredible waking up to gorgeous sun rise and falling asleep to heavenly
sunset! Greatest birthday ever! Saw some hummers, a rattler.
So many stars you could not see them all. Loved laying on the deck and
falling asleep watching them." Folsom, Ca
"WOW! Thank you! Wish we could stay." Copenhagen,
Denmark
"Unbelievable views! Absolutely amazing! Thank you so much! "
Princeton, NJ & Palm Desert, Ca
"I want to live here!" written by a 7 year old from San
Mateo, Ca
"The walk makes you question what you really need. The view was
worth it." Lake Tahoe, Ca
"We saw hummingbirds, deer and a bear, but no rattlesnakes this year.
Looking forward to next year." San Francisco, Ca
"Unbelievable! The raw natural beauty is worth the trip.
Bring aspirin if you have a lot to carry. Very windy at night."
San Mateo, Ca
"Saw bear scat on the hike up from the last pull off. Great view.
I had dreams of hurricanes and hummingbirds." Sarasota, Fl
"Scary drive for the boys, but they loved the adventure once we arrived.
Beautiful! No sleep because the wind was so loud. Lots of time
to see the stars and city lights." Longview, Wa
"Three trips up hill (brought too much stuff). All worth it.
Love it here. Be back next year with less stuff." Redding, Ca
"We came up for a deer hunt, but just came home with beautiful memories
of awesome views. Saw three ospreys & Great Horn owl. Next
time we will have to bring the pack horse." Sebastopol, Ca
