Employment
Individuals who are homeless value work over and above its economic rewards, much the way we all do. It is through work that we engage the world and become members of the mainstream community. Research confirms that people with histories of homelessness, including those with disabilities, want to and can work when given the opportunity, support and services to do so. Those of you working in the housing, treatment and employment systems can use the resources below to build effective collaborations; make use of evidence-based or promising employment practices; and engage people who are homeless to help them achieve better employment outcomes.
