Library Services
Welcome to the Energy Library web site. While the Energy Library no longer has physical space with books, journals and other publication media, Library services continue to be provided through this web site and by telephone at (202) 586-3112 (this does not include the Law Library, a separate entity, available through this link.) The Energy Library’s services include:
- Managing electronic subscriptions throughout DOE Headquarters. This includes 1-time purchases, consolidated subscriptions, and newspapers.
- The Library orders and tracks electronic journal purchases and newspaper subscriptions and works with Program Offices on ordering and renewing subscriptions.
- The Library maintains an accurate accounting of funds received and funds expended and can provide Program Offices with budgetary projections for future purchases.
- Interlibrary Loans — obtaining items for patrons.
- Links to pertinent topics (see Library Resources bar to the right).
- Electronic Journals
- Web Resources arranged alphabetically and by subject
- DOE Laboratory Libraries
- Research tools and search engines
- NRC technical reports
- The Library assists in obtaining translations for foreign documents.
Mission: To serve as the virtual gateway to information resources that reflects the interests and mission of the Department.
Vision: The Energy Library will deliver innovative and proactive customer service regardless of an ever-changing environment, redirected Departmental missions, evolving technology, and refocused customer needs.
