  • Herring v. US (U.S.S.C.) - In circumstances where police mistakes leading to an unlawful search under the Fourth Amendment are the result of isolated negligence attenuated from the arrest, rather than systemic error or reckless disregard of constitutional requirements, the exclusionary rule does not apply.

  • Chambers v. US (U.S.S.C.) - Illinois' crime of "failure to report" for penal confinement is not a "violent felony" for purposes of the Armed Career Criminal Act's (ACCA) 15-year mandatory prison term.

  • Levine v. World Fin. Network Nat'l Bank (U.S. 11th Cir.) - A consumer reporting agency did not willfully violate the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. sections 1681 et seq., when the agency sold a consumer report to a creditor for "account review" after the consumer had closed his account with that creditor.
