  • Total Available: $23,477,899

 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • FMS: Disbursed 24,260,191 payments to Social Security recipients totaling $6,065,047,750 on May 7.
  • FMS: Notified various House and Senate Committees, as a courtesy, by email that the first Recovery Act payments were released in early May.
  • Departmental Offices: Provided press kits on the first in a series of disbursements of the one-time $250 Recovery Act payments to media outlets located near the FMS Regional Financial Centers on May 7. Media outlets in San Francisco and Kansas City ran stories.
  • Departmental Offices (OFAS): Announced a new program on May 4 - Grants to States for Low-Income Housing Projects in lieu of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Treasury will begin processing applications immediately.
  • Departmental Offices (OFAS): A joint Treasury and HUD Webinar was held May 6 to share information about ARRA Low-Income Housing funding initiatives.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • IRS: During the week of May 11th, IRS will issue a news release regarding new withholding adjustment option for pension plans
  • IRS: During the week of May 11th, IRS will issue revised Publication 15T incorporating a withholding adjustment option for pensions plans
  • FMS: Over 6.8 million economic recovery payments will be issued with a May 14 payment date to Social Security recipients valued at over $1.7 billion.
