APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR ASTRONAUT CANDIDATE PROGRAM


The National Aeronautics and Space Administration announces the opportunity to apply for the position of Astronaut Candidate to support the International Space Station Program. The closing date for the current selection cycle was July 1, 2008. Selections are made on an as needed basis and the next selection cycle has not been determined.

Persons from both the civilian sector and the military services will be considered.  All positions are located at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and will involve a training and evaluation program lasting approximately 2 years.

Civilian Applicants

Applications can only be submitted through the Office of Personnel Management’s USAJOBS Web site http://www.usajobs.gov.

Active Duty Military Applicants

Active duty military personnel must submit applications through the Office of Personnel Management’s USAJOBS Web site http://www.usajobs.gov  and to their respective military service.  Contact your military service for additional application procedures.
