Mission
The United States Department of Agriculture provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, and related issues based on sound public policy, the best available science, and efficient management.
Role in Space-Based PNT
- Conducts research and develops applications of space-based PNT technology in support of USDA agency missions and activities.
- Integrates PNT solutions with cartography, remote sensing, and geographic information systems as a function of the Geospatial Line of Business.
- Promotes the use of space-based PNT for precision agriculture, sustaining natural resources, fire protection and suppression, and supporting implementation of the Farm Bill.
