Guidance to Applicants

Because contributions to the environment, tribal public policy and Native American health care can be made in many different ways, Udall Scholars represent a broad range of academic majors and career interests. Recent Udall Scholars have majored in environmental sciences and policy studies, agriculture, political science, natural resource management, sociology, anthropology, American Indian studies, tribal public policy, history, English, theater, landscape architecture, and public health, to name just a few areas.

If you are interested in applying for a Udall Scholarship:

  • Read through the 2009 Student Nomination Materials to familiarize yourself with the eligibility criteria and scholarship conditions;
  • Browse the Guidance to Applicants and FAQ sections of the website;
  • Find your college or university's Faculty Representative;
  • Work closely with your faculty representative to meet all institutional and foundation deadlines.
