national and regional issues. It follows every piece of legislation
appearing before Congress that affects forestry.
Society of
American Foresters - is the national scientific and educational
organization representing the forestry profession in the United
States. Founded in 1900 by Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief
of the Forest Service, it is the largest professional society
for foresters in the world.
American
Tree Farm System - is a program of the American Forest
Foundation (AFF). AFF recognizes sustainable family forests
with a distinctive green sign. Over 65,000 families are enrolled
in the program.
