Military children
may experience unique situations due to the military. These may
include separations from their military parent and household moves
during their parent's military career.
Start preparing
children for a move as soon as possible. Fear of the unknown exists,
especially among children, and it is best for everyone to have honest
discussions before and after the move. A move always arouses some
anxiety for a family. Children, as well as adults, need time to
deal with feelings of loss or separation. The more time they have,
the better. Tell them as soon as you can, and let them know as many
details as possible.
