If you would like to take a tour of the National Weather Service office in Portland, you
may now make a tour request online. Simply take a moment to read over our tour guidelines
before filling out the form below.
Note: These guidelines are not "set in stone." If you are unsure about whether
or not your group/situation fits the guidelines, please go ahead and submit your request and
we will contact you to discuss your circumstances in further detail.
Privacy
- Entering information into this form and submitting your online tour request is done so
on a voluntary basis. While all fields in this form are required in order to submit an
electronic tour request, you may also make tour requests by either emailing the
webmaster account, or calling
the office at 503-326-2340..
- Additionally, information submitted via this form is confidential and will only be used to
contact the individual(s) listed as the point of contact for a specific tour request. If you

Tour Guidelines for the NWS Portland, OR
Group sizes and age
Group sizes should be limited to a maximum of 25 people
(groups larger than 25 will be addressed on a case by case basis).
The grade level of tour participants should be 3rd grade or older
Times
Tours will typically be conducted during normal business hours
Monday - Friday, roughly between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm
Tours are usually between 30 and 45 minutes in length. However, based on the needs
of your group, timing can possibly be adjusted.
Evening and weekend tours are discouraged, but may be pre-scheduled with adequate
notice
Loose Ends
Remember, this is not a reservation, only a request. The tour focal
point will contact
you, either by phone or email, once your request has been submitted to finalize
a date/time for for your tour.
Tour requests should be made at least one month in advance.
Tour requests made within 1 month of requested date may or may not
be accomodated due to staff availability.
A visitor pass will be given to the designated group leader, and all persons (18 and
older) participating in the tour may be required to sign in at the front desk.
Significant weather events, staff shortages, a change in terror threat levels, and other
unforseen situations, may force a tour to be cancelled with short notice. If a
cancellation becomes necessary, we will do our best to contact you as soon as we
can to notify you, and reschedule the tour if possible. Because of this, you should
be sure to contact us at least a couple of days ahead of time to ensure your tour is
your tour is still scheduled.
