About the U.S. Attorney
Jane Duke became United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas on December 28, 2007. Prior to becoming U.S. Attorney, Ms. Duke served as Acting United States Attorney, First Assistant United States Attorney and as Assistant United States Attorney. She has been with the U.S. Attorney’s Office since 2002. In addition to the various management responsibilities she now has, Ms. Duke has also handled a wide variety of criminal cases in federal district court including large-scale drug trafficking cases, white collar offenses and child exploitation crimes.
Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Duke served as a law clerk for now deceased United States District Judge Stephen M. Reasoner and was an associate with Wright, Lindsey & Jennings, LLP. While in private practice, Ms. Duke practiced primarily in the areas of employment discrimination, medical malpractice and general tort defense.
Ms. Duke graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1996 with High Honors and was a member of The Arkansas Law Review. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1993 from the University of Arkansas.
