EnviroMapper for NYC Response
U.S. EPA's EnviroMapper is a powerful interactive tool used to map and display a
wide variety of environmental information. The EnviroMapper for NYC Response provides access to results from environmental sampling and monitoring
conducted by EPA, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and other
organizations in the New York City area in the aftermath of the events of September
11, 2001. Through this tool you can select a geographic area and receive back a map
that will show you where environmental monitoring was conducted in your selected
area - the type of monitoring done (asbestos, particulate monitoring, pcbs, dioxin,
etc.) - and the results that were found. You can also trace the routes used by trucks
and barges to haul away debris and materials from the disaster site.
To map and query environmental monitoring activities, please follow the three steps
below or click here to go directly to the EnviroMapper for NYC Response. For
additional information or assistance in using this tool, then visit our Help feature
(accessible here and in the upper right corner on the map face).
You can also get a complete list of sampling sites by media from EPA Response to
September 11.
