The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) recently launched the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite, also known as GOSAT, on January 23, 2009. This significant event marks the launch of the first satellite dedicated to measuring greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, from space. - EPA Welcomes GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. to Natural Gas STAR International (PDF) (1 pg, 462K, About PDF)
EPA and Poland's natural gas transmission company, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., recently signed an agreement to work together on reducing methane emissions. GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. headquartered in Warsaw, is a state company that operates Poland's domestic gas transportation pipelines. - EPA Announces 2008 Natural Gas STAR Award Winners
On November 12, 2008 at the 15th Annual Implementation Workshop in San Antonio, TX, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognized a select group of Natural Gas STAR partners for their outstanding accomplishments in methane emission reductions achieved, implementation of technologies and practices, and support of Program activities, initiatives, and outreach.
