Fox Island Division

The Fox Island Division is located five miles south of Keokuk, Iowa near Alexandria, Missouri. It is comprised of approximately 2,110 acres. The Fox River, which runs through southeastern Iowa and northeastern Missouri, bisects the division, and empties into the Mississippi River at the southern tip of the division.

Long Island Division

The Long Island Division is located six miles north of Quincy, IL, in Pool 21. This 6,300 acre division is comprised of a complex of islands and floodplain. Major islands include Barnes, Shandrew, Flannigan, Long and LaGrange. Wildlife habitat consists of 4,670+ acres of bottomland forest, with lakes, sloughs and ponds making up an additional 600 acres.

Delair Division

The Delair Division is located in Pike County, Illinois, Pool 24. The closest town is Louisiana, Missouri, two miles northwest of the refuge. There are 330 acres cooperatively farmed annually with corn, soybeans and winter wheat in order to provide supplemental food for waterfowl. The remaining 1,275 acres have been restored to marshes, lakes, forests and grasslands.

Clarence Cannon NWR

Clarence Cannon NWR lies in Pike County, Missouri, Pool 25, about one mile east of the small town of Annada, and is the headquarters for the Great River NWR. More than 2,000 acres of this refuge are managed for wetland plant production, while at least 400 acres are annually cropped by cooperative farmers.
