Description: Guidance to applicants responding to NIH Announces the Availability of Recovery Act Funds for Competitive Revision Applications (NOT-OD-09-058) that are competitive revisions for parent awards for which the activity code of the application has not transitioned to electronic submission. This includes Program Project grants (P01), Center grants (e.g., P20, P30, P50), Cooperative Agreements (e.g., U01), Training Grants (e.g., T32) and Institutional Career Development Awards (K12).

Description: NIH will implement ARRA to select existing peer-reviewed, meritorious grant applications, that can be accomplished in two years or less, meet the goals of the ARRA, and meet the mission priorities of NIH.

NCI will only be considering FY 2009 applications. Applications submitted in response to NCI RFAs and Program Announcements with specific set-asides (PAS) that have already been considered and not selected for funding, will not be reconsidered for ARRA funding.

Description: The Research and Research Infrastructure Grand Opportunities (GO) program will support high-impact, large-scale projects that lend themselves to short-term, non-renewable funding. NCI expects to devote $10,000,000 to support projects in areas such as nanotechnology, proteomics, stem cell research, early phase clinical trials, transcriptional and translational regulation, and comparative oncology research. Description: This award is designed to support Core Center Grants. This program will provide funding to develop the resources necessary to conduct relevant research projects, including funds for hiring and providing appropriate start-up packages for newly-independent investigators. NIH Academic Research Enhancement Awards (AREA)

Description: The purpose of the NIH Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) program is to stimulate research in educational institutions that provide baccalaureate or advanced degrees for a significant number of the Nation's research scientists, but that have not been major recipients of NIH support. These AREA grants create opportunities for scientists and institutions otherwise unlikely to participate extensively in NIH programs, to contribute to the Nation's biomedical and behavioral research effort. AREA grants are intended to support small-scale, health-related research projects proposed by faculty members of eligible, domestic institutions.
