 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • Continued weekly mailings to rail employees who may be eligible for special extended unemployment benefits under the Recovery Act. Over 1,600 notices have been released to date.
  • Responded to OMB comments on draft recovery plans.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • Continue work on programming and analysis for one-time Economic Recovery Act payments and for Extended Unemployment Benefits.
  • Plan to issue one-time Recovery Act payments to approximately 517,000 entitled railroad retirement beneficiaries in late May 2009.
