Dom DiMaggio, an outstanding center fielder with the Boston Red Sox, whose baseball career was fated to remain in the shadow of his older brother and professional rival, Joe DiMaggio, died May 8 of pneumonia at his home in Marion, Mass. He was 92.
John Perry, 95, a former assistant director of the Smithsonian National Zoological Park and the author or co-author, with his wife, of more than 25 books on natural history and ecology, died April 29 at his home in Winter Haven, Fla. He had complications related to Alzheimer's disease.
