Health Care

We all depend on health care products and services to stay well enough to live, work, and participate in our communities. For many Americans with disabilities, access to adequate and affordable health care coverage and services have long been some of the biggest obstacles to independent living, employment, and full participation in community life.

Working across its policy teams, ODEP is in the process of developing a health care policy agenda as a critical step in expanding employment supports for individuals with disabilities. We are closely examining the relationship between various health care and employment issues. Our goal is to ensure that health care issues are integrated into our employment policy efforts.
