Description: Remembrance, Curated by Julie Gutmann and Donna Miller. This BookMarks reading, entitled "Remembrance," presents poems and essays by authors from our community whose writings capture moments of loss, connection and celebration. These writers cover a range of topics, from the love and grief of parent-child relationships to a doctor's meditations on life and death as he drives along a familiar road. Some record survivor experiences that only find voice in the next generation's commitment to bearing witness. Others evoke weather lore, connections to land, identity in garments, knitting for future generations, remembrance of an unusual dog, and the naming of a farm. Come to discover and record your own personal remembrances through journaling and interactive audience response during this special evening of shared memoir performance.
