CRSP MC Transmission Planning The CRSP Transmission System Planning work group, acting on behalf of the CRSP Manager, is the central point of contact for all CRSP transmission-related activities and is responsible for the overall management of all CRSP transmission assets. Our Mission: "Maximize the Amount of Marketable CRSP Transmission." Team ProfileThe CRSP Transmission System Planning work group was born out of Western’s 1998 Standards of Conduct (SOC) initiative. The SOC initiative was Western’s response to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) Order 889/18 CFR 37 to provide nondiscriminatory transmission access to all parties and to make transmission information available to all parties at the same time. A limited number of staff within the CRSP Management Center are dedicated to managing and coordinating these activities, with most staff level work being provided through collaborative arrangements among Western's Corporate Services Office (CSO), the Rocky Mountain Regional (RMR) office and the Desert Southwest Regional (DSR) office. Interconnection RequirementsWestern operates and maintains an integrated, high-voltage power transmission system of nearly 17,000 circuit miles of Federal transmission. Occasionally, we receive requests to interconnect to our transmission system or to add to or modify existing facilities. To assist us in quickly and thoroughly evaluating requests for interconnections, we have published a document identifying our general requirements and the process for interconnecting, adding to, or modifying Western's transmission facilities. The document summarizes the funding, reliability, safety and security, environmental, land aquisition, and technical and contractual requirements as they relate to interconnecting to our transmission system. This document, "General Requirements for Interconnection," (PDF) can be found on our website or can be obtained from the points of contact listed below.
