Georgia Public Service Announcements
Overall Description/Purpose
The twelve Public
Service Announcemenets (PSAs) were produced by the IRIS Center in collaboration
with Internews. The PSAs support USAID’s Strategic Objective
of promoting legal systems that better support implementation of the
democratic processes and market reforms. Specifically, the PSAs contribute
to increased public awareness of citizens’ legal rights.
Summary of Individuals
PSAs
The topics of the
PSAs were selected on the basis of a baseline survey. In addition,
IRIS and Internews conducted focus groups in the five cities of Akhaltsikhe,
Borjomi, Kutaisi, Tbilisi, and Telavi to collect information on priority
topics to be addressed in the service announcements. Each PSA illustrates
specific articles contained in the Constitution of Georgia with the
statement for citizens to “Know the Law”. The PSAs aired
on all major national and regional TV stations at primetime and with
high frequency.
