Northeast Region

Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia

The region of the megalopolis, seemingly unbroken development from Virginia’s Tidewater to north of Boston, is nonetheless a great place for anglers in search of solitude and quality fishing. The refuges of the Northeast can be an angler’s delight. What’s your preference—giant stripers in the surf or chopper bluefish in tidal estuaries? They’re here, along with largemouth bass in coastal plain ponds and, of course, the native trout of the eastern uplands, the brook trout. This region is the cradle of trout fishing in America, and a region that offers much to see for the wandering and observant angler.
