Rural
Transportation Grants - The U. S. Department of Agriculture
awarded multi-year grants funds to Mississippi, New York, Oregon,
Texas and West Virginia for innovative approaches in overcoming
limited transportation resources in rural areas for the Summer Food
Service Program.

Income
Eligibility Guidelines
- Effective July 1, 2007, the income eligibility guidelines for the
Summer Food Service Program were changed.

Simplified Summer
Food Program -
The
Simplified Summer Food Program is a statutory provision in the NSLA that
permits sponsors to receive meals times the rates without the need to
compare this with their actual costs. Currently 27 States have
this authority.

- Seamless Summer
Option
- The Seamless Summer option (formerly the Seamless Summer Waiver) is
now a permanent option for school districts participating in the
National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program.
