Dec 4, 2008 - EPA Releases an Update on Indicators
EPA has released an update of new data points and associated text to about 30 ROE Indicators. The ROE indicators depend on data from a variety of monitoring and other data collection efforts, and each of these have different schedules for collecting new data and making it available to the users. EPA is committed to keeping the ROE information as current as possible. To achieve this, the ROE has adopted a quarterly cycle for updating is indicators on a regular cycle throughout the year. This is announcing the first set of updates - for a full list of updates see the ROE newest releases and updates . All future updates will be posted on a quarterly basis, on or about the first of the month in March, June, September and December yearly.
Oct 30, 2008 - EPA's Electronic Report on the Environment (eROE) Web site Announced
EPA announced the availability of the electronic Report on the Environment (eROE or ROE). This online Web site provides access to the environmental and human health information contained in the EPA's 2008 Report on the Environment (EPA/600/R-07/045F), released May 20, 2008, and in the EPA's 2008 Report on the Environment: Highlights of National Trends, released September 24, 2008. The ROE provides answers to important questions EPA has asked about the condition of our nation's environment and human health over time. EPA has released the EPA's 2008 Report on the Environment: Highlights of National Trends document (referred to as the ROE Highlights Document or ROEHD) which summarizes the key findings of the ROE report. It helps visitors discover what the trends are in the condition of our nation’s air, water, and land? Or learn what the related trends are in human health and ecosystem quality? It presents a set of scientifically sound indicators to help answer the questions that are important to the Agency’s mission of protecting the environment and human health.

EPA released the Draft Report on the Environment Technical Document. The Technical Document provides the scientific foundation for the Public Draft Report on the Environment and discusses in detail the indicators and data that are currently available. The Technical Document presents technical data, as well as their limitations, and highlights the information gaps and challenges that must be addressed in order to better answer the key questions in the future.
