The EPA is an active partner in a number of international pollution prevention programs. Actions range from participation in conferences and meetings to the development of agreements and negotiations promoting community right-to-know objectives, the manufacture, use, management and disposal of heavy metals and other chemicals, and chemical testing. The EPA also participates in the development of international voluntary environmental management standards created by the International Organization for Standardization.
