Grants and Incentives

King County's Green Building Grants provide funding to projects built in King County that meet stringent criteria for resource conservation. Grants are funded through the Department of Natural Resources and Parks. In addition, King County's Department of Development and Environmental Services provides incentives for residential projects that are seeking BuiltGreen™ certification.

Commercial Green Building Incentives

Commercial, institutional and multifamily projects seeking LEED® certification are eligible for grant awards between $20,000- $30,000 depending on performance level achieved.

Residential Green Building Incentives

The King County/Seattle Built Green™ incentive provides up to $5,000 for residential single-family projects, and up to $20,000 for multi-family, and community development projects achieving 4- and 5-star Built Green certification.

Permitting Incentives in Unincorporated King County

By promoting and supporting green building and low impact development, King County's Department of Development and Environmental Services can help builders and developers create communities that are healthy for families and for our Northwest environment.
