Permitting Incentives

The Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES) provides a number of incentives to encourage green building and low impact development practices in unincorporated King County. By promoting and supporting green building and low impact development in projects, DDES can help builders and developers create communities that are healthy for families and for our Northwest environment. Incentives include:

  • Built Green 5-star single family home, under 1,500-sf
    • 8 hours of free project management
    • priority processing
  • Built Green 5-star single family home, under 5,000-sf
    • 5 hours of free project management
    • priority processing
  • Built Green 5-star multi-family project
    • 15 hours of free project management
    • priority processing
  • Built Green 4-star single-family home, under 5,000-sf
    • 3 hours of free project management
    • priority processing
  • staff knowledgeable in green building strategies that are assigned to green building and low impact development projects
  • free green building and low impact development technical consulting services for DDES customers
