Dekalb Disaster Recovery Center Will Remain Open

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- In order to meet the ongoing needs in DeKalb and nearby counties, the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Sycamore will remain open until further notice. This DRC was previously scheduled to close on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.

The DeKalb County DRC is located at the Sycamore Center, 308 W. State Street, Sycamore, IL 60174. This DRC will continue to be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

When the DRC closes, representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will remain at the location, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, until further notice, to assist homeowners, renters and businesses with completing and accepting their loan applications.

Disaster Recovery Centers offer a single location where many types of recovery information are available and people are able to talk face-to-face with disaster recovery specialists. Visitors can receive help filling out disaster loan applications from the SBA or check on the status of disaster assistance applications. Information is available about:

Anyone affected by the Aug. 20-31 severe storms and flooding is urged to register their damage online anytime at www.fema.gov or by calling the toll-free telephone line, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily. For those with special speech or hearing needs, the TTY number is 1-800-462-7585.
