Bedrock Regional Aquifer Systematics StudyThe Bedrock Regional Aquifer Systematics Study (BRASS) Project is within the Eastern Earth Surfaces Processes Team and is engaged in cooperative research efforts with hydrologists from the USGS and elsewhere to better understand ground water flow, availability, and quality in regions underlain by bedrock (fractured-rock aquifers). The primary objective of BRASS is to determine bedrock geologic controls on the behavior of ground water in various geologic settings, partly in order to demonstrate how bedrock geologic mapping can be useful for solving problems related to ground water. The cooperative hydrogeologic projects utilize a wide range of analytical approaches including--
