Pesticides subtopics Alphabetical List of All Topics

Pesticides have an important role to play in the management of pests in our homes, schools and on our farms. However, when improperly used, pesticides can pose a serious risk to human health and the environment. EPA offers advice and guidance on the management and disposal of pesticides for both agricultural and non-agricultural uses. Through Integrated Pest Management, the agency advocates an environmentally sensitive approach to pesticide use that includes combining common-sense practices, monitoring and preventative measures that can ultimately reduce the need for pesticides. EPA also works with regional, state and tribal authorities to implement pesticide risk management measures in the field, and develop and apply more consistent program policies, decisions and implementation among all partners.
