Areas of Emphasis for STAR Extramural Research
What areas have our previous research solicitations covered?
NCER's drinking water research has covered a range of topics since the programs inception with the first drinking water solicitation in 1996. The STAR drinking water research program has evolved from a focus on disinfection byproducts to an emphasis on microbial contaminants. In more recent years, the STAR program has funded epidemiological investigations of drinking water systems. Future direction for the STAR drinking water program in on development of new, rapid detection methods for drinking water pathogens--both known and emerging.
