The Pollution Prevention Information Clearinghouse (PPIC) is a free information service of the U.S. EPA dedicated to reducing and eliminating industrial pollutants through technology transfer, source reduction, education and public awareness.

Reference and Referral Service

PPIC provides reference and referral between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Reference questions can be submitted via telephone/ voicemail at (202) 566-0799, fax at (202) 564-8899, postal mail, or e-mail. A convenient web form is also available.

Document Distribution Services

PPIC provides pollution prevention resources such as EPA documents and fact sheets dealing with source reduction and pollution prevention. Orders are taken from the public by phone, fax, e-mail and mail.

PPIC Information Products

The PPIC Archive contains electronic versions of older pollution prevention documents no longer available in hard copy.

The Conference List gives details and contact information for many current and upcoming pollution prevention conferences, workshops and training opportunities.

EPA's Pollution Prevention (P2) Web Site provides general information about P2 policies and programs, P2 technical assistance information and P2 resources. The annual Pollution Prevention Grant Programs information is also featured on this Web site.

Pathfinders. These pathfinders and bibliographies are designed to help you find the books and web sites on certain subjects relevant to Pollution Prevention, Pesticides, and Toxic substances.

EPA Libraries. You can search the EPA library collection through EPA's Online Library System (OLS) by selecting "Advanced Search", searching "pollution prevention" as a keyword.
