VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES IN CANADA FOR FALL 2009!  Are available in our offices in Ottawa, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. 

PROGRAM:  International Business
PERIODS OF INTERNSHIPS:  Offered continually throughout the year for a minimum of 12 weeks extending to a maximum of 6 months.  Note that it takes approximately twelve weeks to receive security clearances from Washington HQ.  We are currently recruiting for the Fall 2009 semester as follows:
FALL 2009 INTERNSHIP DATES:  Tuesday, September 8 - Friday, December 18, 2009.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
After a brief orientation period, the intern will be involved in `on-the-job' training by working on a pre-defined project or projects relating to U.S./Canada trade development. Intern responsibilities could include: conducting market research, preparing reports, drafting replies to trade inquiries, promoting and recruiting exhibitors for trade events and making business appointments for U.S. companies seeking strategic alliances in Canada. The intern's work assignments shall be in the public interest, and to the maximum extent possible, shall provide an appropriate educational experience for the intern.

Interns work in a progressive environment and quickly become familiar with the dynamic field of international trade. Upon completion of the internship, each intern will receive a letter of referral based upon performance.

To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled in an ongoing program at a post-secondary educational institution; have completed at least two years of academic study; and plan to continue education in the Fall after completing internship in Canada. Assistance may be arranged with finding student residence accommodation if desired.  A Letter of Entry will be provided to facilitate arrival in Canada. 

APPLICATION PACKAGE
Must include cover letter, resume, and writing sample with the following elements:.

Cover Letter: Why you want to be an intern, what you have to offer and what you hope to benefit from the internship.  Letter should also state which office/s in Canada you are interested in and if you need help to find lodging during your stay. 

Resume: Future goals, computer skills, past experience, including academic accomplishments, citizenship, student status.

Writing Sample: Displays your market research skills and your caliber of writing style. It can be a recent report that you have already written. Business and market research papers are preferred. Do not submit group work projects.
