Informational Literature

The Department of Justice has several informational documents that explain the religious liberty laws enforced by the Civil Rights Division and how to file complaints:

  • Protecting the Religious Freedom of All: Federal Laws Against Religious Discrimination: This 4" x 9", 11-page color booklet (pdf version) outlines the various religious liberty laws that the Department of Justice enforces, including information for filing complaints. You can order copies, including large quantities for distribution, by calling the Special Counsel for Religious Discrimination at (202) 353-8622 or sending an email to FirstFreedom@usdoj.gov.
  • Report on Enforcement of Laws Protecting Religious Freedom: Fiscal Years 2001-2006: This 43-page report, which details the Civil Rights Division's enforcement of religious freedom laws, is available as a pdf here, or hard copies may be ordered from FirstFreedom@usdoj.gov or calling (202) 353-8622.
