Mandatory Electronic Filing for all Shipments Rewuiring Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) – Effective July 2, 2008

SUMMARY: The U.S. Census Bureau (Census Bureau) issues this final rule to amend its regulations to implement provisions in the Foreign Rlations Authorization Act. Specifically, the Census Bureau is requiring mandatory filing of export information through the Automated Export System (AES) or through AESDirect for all shipments where a Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) is required.

DATES: Effective Date: This rule is effective July 2, 2008.

Implementation Date: The Census Bureau will implement provisions of his rule on September 30, 2008. his will allow all affected entities sfficient time to come into compliance with this rule.
