2003 Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade Recipient

Penn Power, an electric utility operating company of FirstEnergy Company located in New Castle, Pennsylvania, was awarded an Export Achievement Certificate of Appreciation in April 2003 for supporting export trade initiatives with the U.S. Commercial Service for FirstEnergy’s Export Now trade assistance economic development program. Through their efforts, Penn Power has made it possible for eight companies from Western Pennsylvania to attend eight different trade missions in Mexico and Canada since 1998. Industries that participated in these trade missions have total projected cumulated two-year sales of $6,210,000. Penn Power’s partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service has helped create more than 400 new jobs in the area.
