1. Our firm wants to export our “US made” product. Where should we start?

The best place to start is at your nearest US Export Assistance Center (to find a center near you, visit http://www.buyusa.gov/home/export.html). We can assist with all your exporting needs and provide a wide range of services from market research to our premium Gold-Key and Platinum-Key services.

Another excellent resource to consult is the “A Basic Guide to Exporting”. This book contains information about such broad topics such as developing an export strategy and preparing your product for export to more specific topics such as methods of payment and shipping, packaging and insurance logistics.

2. Is there an opportunity for my company to do business in Iraq?

The Iraq Investment and Reconstruction Task Force assists companies who are pursuing reconstruction and business opportunities in Iraq. Information about the business climate and market opportunities as well trade events concerning Iraq reconstruction can be found at their website, http://www.export.gov/iraq/.

3. How can I learn more about U.S. Free Trade Agreements?

The U.S. has free trade agreements (FTA) with Australia, Bahrain, Central America and the Dominican Republic (CAFTA-DR), Chile Israel, Jordan, Morocco, Canada and Mexico (NAFTA), Oman, Peru and Singapore, and has several other FTAs currently under negotiation. 4. I need assistance from a U.S. Government agency, but do not know which one to contact. Is there a website with a listing of all U.S. agencies and a description of what they do?

5. Can I receive updated market research reports by email?

The U.S. Department of Commerce offers market research reports by industry, as well as the geographic region. These reports, which include information on general market research, trade events and business opportunities, are free, but your product must have over 51% of U.S. content.
