NPElement: A Database of Lichen Elemental Concentrations in the U.S. National Parks - National Park service support  - monitoring contaminants with lichen. Lichens have been sampled in U.S. National Parks since 1979 for elemental analyses of tissues. These samples were collected and measured to determine the levels of heavy metals, nutrients, and trace elements.
