Each year, the commemoration of National Crime Victims Rights Week provides an opportunity to demonstrate the nation's commitment to crime victims and to recognize the outstanding effors of crime victim advocates to secure rights and services for crime victims. This year the theme for National Crime Victims Rights Week is Let Victim Rights Ring Across America. In an effort to raise public awareness about the rights and needs of crime victims, this year OVC will sponsor a national teleconference during National Crime Victims Week that will discuss the status of victim rights in the United States today, and highlight examples of innovative strategies for responding to crime victims needs.
