National Biological Information Infrastructure

The USGS National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) provides the nation with a mechanism for accessing the vast amount of existing biological and natural resources data, information products, and analytical tools that support and enhance science-based decision-making. It is the cornerstone for the gathering and efficient transfer of research and monitoring information from all sectors of the global biological community to those who make decisions regarding the study, use, and conservation of natural resources.
