On April 30, CBS’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation featured a full storyline about coroner Dr. Robbins, portrayed by actor, disability rights advocate, amputee, and longtime member of the Amputee Coalition of America Robert David Hall. The first full storyline for Dr. Robbins since he started on the show 9 years ago, this episode, titled "The Gone Dead Train," exposed more dimensions of Hall’s character. 

CBS has taken the lead in the hiring of actors with disabilities in TV programming going back to the 1980s. Whether you are facing amputation for the first time, or have lived with limb loss for years, the Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) provides a wealth of information for and about amputees. If you have recently had a limb amputated or are preparing for an amputation, please search the library for “New Amputee Information” and contact ACA’s National Limb Loss Information Center (NLLIC) to receive a free information packet-- we are here to help you!
